Dive Festival Underwater Photo Contest

The Dive Festival invites all underwater photographers to submit their best shots to the new annual photo competition. With attractive prizes and various categories, there is something for everyone. The competition starts on July 1, 2024 and ends with the award ceremony at the Dive Festival 2025 on February 1 and 2, 2025.

Categories (fresh or salt water):
Wide-angle shots with or without diver
Animal portraits
Macro photography
Wreck photography
Participants can take part in individual categories or in all four. When submitting images in all categories, participants will of course be entered into the main prize draw in the overall portfolio.

Rules:
The competition is open to international participants, with the exception of the jury members, TSK and Dive & Travel employees and the organizers of the Dive Festival. All photos must have been taken underwater and must not show any creatures in captivity. Moderate post-processing is permitted, but the image must not lose its natural environment. The use of artificial intelligence is only permitted to denoise the image. Digital stitching of images is only permitted under water. Watermarks and signatures are not permitted. The jury reserves the right to request the original file, which must of course be submitted later.

Image requirements:
The images must have a maximum size of 2400 x 3600 pixels at 300 dpi and be submitted in JPG format. The color space must be sRGB and the file size must not exceed 5 MB. Each image must be labeled with name, title, location and date taken, equipment used and a separate list of the equipment used.

Only one image per person and category is permitted.

Submission:
Photos can only be submitted by e-mail to bern@tsk.ch or mail@diveand.travel and/or via common data transfer providers such as WeTransfer to the aforementioned e-mail.

Participation, evaluation and awards:
Participation is open until December 31, 2024. All images will be collected, organized and archived by TSK and Dive and Travel. The jury evaluation will take place in winter 2025, the jury will meet and evaluate the images together on site, looking for images that stand out from the crowd. The award ceremony and presentation of the photos will take place at the Dive Festival 2025.

The prizes will be handed over in person at the award ceremony, in exceptional cases the prizes can also be sent.
