Vancouver IslandCold water

Aqua-Sure, powder orgies and the sauce of death

TSK Tauchreise auf den Vancouver Islands Fisch

After an unspectacular journey to Vancouver, the first loss was already to be mourned. Andreas' luggage was lost in Milan or did we choose the wrong destination? The tour guide organized rental equipment for Andrea and for himself some nice deep-sea frogfins, so that we could board the Nautilus Swell the next day fully equipped.

After sound briefings from Captain Al on Plan A, B or C and subsequent powder orgies, the skiff was taken up and the entries by means of uncontrolled staggering backwards were celebrated. At least partly the latter was certainly due to the huge amount of lead that had to be carried. Luckily there was enough lead available, which was attached to belts, weight belts and in the worst case also taped to the bottle. Some passengers preferred lead-free diving for environmental reasons. But maybe it was just comfort or forgetfulness?

Because the water was terribly cold, all available underwear was wildly combined. Only one was unimpressed by the cold, Captain Al climbed into his tarnished, muddy suit in jeans and T-shirt. From then on we called this daring combination the Al Style. For accomplished Central Europeans this style is only partly worth imitating, because it would result in uncontrolled cold twitches.
Andrea's rental equipment turned out to be absolutely functional and reliable. Then the unbelievable happened: After a week's, the luggage then discovered that the owner had not chosen the wrong destination. After countless phone calls and touching help from the captain, lucky Andrea on the ship was able to put her belongings back into her arms.

While diving different preferences crystallized: the kelp slut threw away her lamp with enthusiasm, she liked killer jellyfish and killer sea lions. She wasn't even allowed to look the sea lions in the eyes, as this led to a certain aggressiveness. But this problem could be solved by hiding behind a big rock. Others became friends with tame wolf eels, which were fed with sea urchins. After another refreshing dive we were looking forward to the toilet and Amanda's hot chocolate, but the captain put a stop to our plans. He forced us to chase a huge school dolphins with the snorkel. But for such a unique experience you put your basic needs in the back!
