Online Workshop Pressure Equalization

Learn a specific and structured method (SHARE method) to master pressure equalization from the comfort of your own home.

The two possible course levels "Start" and "Deep" include targeted sequences of exercises developed by Federico Mana in more than 10 years of field work. Modern e-learning technologies make it possible to train anywhere and at any time. Your online course will be accompanied by a trained SHARE instructor. The course is available in either English or German. Depending on your skill level, you can choose between the "START" or "DEEP" level course content.

This course is ideal as preparation for the PADI Freediver course after completing the PADI Basic Freediver course.

Course Content

Course Level START

This course is aimed at beginners who have not yet mastered the Frenzel pressure equalization technique or would like to improve it. You will learn about more than twenty exercises that build on each other to teach you how to feel the glottis and move the tongue correctly. Control of the soft palate and its targeted use is another basic requirement for successful pressure equalization. In addition to the detailed exercise instructions, the course includes at least four one-hour webinars in which your instructor will teach you the theoretical basics and check that you are performing the exercises correctly.

On completion of the course, you will be able to perform the Frenzel manoeuvre efficiently.

Course Level DEEP

This course is aimed at advanced freedivers who have reached their limits with pressure equalization and now want to achieve deeper dives with the help of the mouthfill or reverse packing. More than twenty coordinated exercises teach you full control of the glottis and the correct use of the tongue, cheeks and jaw to compress air. Phonetics will teach you how to connect and utilise the air space of the nose and mouth.

By the end of the course, you will have mastered various reverse packing techniques and be able to perform mouthfill pressure equalisation efficiently and in a coordinated manner.

• There are no prerequisites for this workshop. The course is aimed at anyone who would like to learn about pressure equalization techniques.

Course Type

Group courses offered by us are advertised with fixed dates (see "Course dates"). If you have a busy schedule or want to enjoy individual attention, we recommend the VIP course. The private course is designed for a self-formed small group of two or three people. For VIP or private course bookings, please indicate a few possible dates in the "Message" field when you register.

Insurance

Insurance is in the responsibility of the participant. We recommend a membership with the Schweizer Unterwasser–Sport–Verband SUSV.
